NEET Cut Off 2024: General, OBC, SC, ST Passing Marks for MBBS Government College

The National Testing Agency has conducted the exam of National Entrance Cum Eligibility Test for the candidates to take admission in medical courses all over the country. Aspirants who appear in the exam need to score minimum cut-off marks to be considered qualified for the exam.

The authorities of NTA also decided the NEET Cut Off 2024 for the candidates. Candidates can successfully check the cut-off marks using the official website of the department.

NEET Cut Off 2024

The NEET Exam was held on 5th May 2024, and the results were also declared ten days earlier than expected on 4th June. This is a breakthrough for the candidates as there are a total of 67 students who have secured the same full marks in the exam. However, students are waiting for the NEET Cut Off 2024 to know whether they are qualified for the exam or not.

As we discussed earlier, many students have secured the highest number of marks and have increased the competition for seats among students. There are over 20 lakh students who have appeared in the exam, and only those who secure minimum cut-off marks are able to be admitted to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS/BDS, etc.

Factors Determining NEET Cut Off 2024

Generally, there are various factors which affect the cut-off for the exam. These factors are considered by the authorities while calculating them. The factors affecting the NEET Cut Off 2024 are very important like how many students appeared in the exam.

Likewise, they will also consider the number of vacancies or seats available for the courses of MBBS/BDS in national as well as state level for students. They will also take an average of marks scored by the students in the exam, which will help them to set a cut-off for candidates.

NEET Cut Off Tie-Breaking Method

In NEET Cut Off 2024, these tie-breakers also play an important role in deciding the rank of the candidates.

  • If two students scored the same marks in biology (botany, Zoology), then the one who scored more marks in physics will get the higher rank.
  • Other than this, any candidate who has scored more marks in each subject than one who has the highest marks in biology will get the highest rank.
  • Candidates who have secured full marks in all the subjects will get the top rank in the exam.

NEET Cut Off Minimum Marks

The minimum marks which the candidates need to qualify for the exam are considered as the cut-off marks. In NEET Cut Off 2024, the minimum marks are decided category wise, which means considering the category of the candidate.

The candidates of each category need to score minimum qualifying marks of their category to move ahead in the admission process.

  • General category candidates need to score a minimum cut-off mark of 164 in the exam.
  • Schedule Caste category candidates need to score a minimum cut-off mark of 129 in the exam.
  • Schedule Tribe category candidates need to score a minimum cut-off mark of 129 in the exam.
  • For Other Backward Class categories, candidates need to score a minimum cut-off mark of 128 in the exam.
  • General-PH categories candidates need to score a minimum cut-off mark of 145 in the exam.
  • SC/ST/OBC-PH categories candidates need to score a minimum cut-off mark of 135 in the exam.
